Last year I was predicting these two along with Napa (Oh Mighty Napa what has happened?), to battle it out and saw Vintage was on the rise. American Canyon has a new coach and it appears American Canyon has done well replacing their former coaches. As for Napa, well they have a new coach again and they are running the Spread (who knew they would ever switch. I guess it's the sign of the times?).
American Canyon (3-4) has faced a real nice preseason schedule for to prepare them for league play and it looks like it is working. They started 0-4 before league play with losses cvoming from Deer Valley (3-4) 36-21, Inderkum (6-0) 69-0, Amador Valley (5-1) 42-13. & Wood (5-1) 28-27. But since league play it appears their offense took the foot off the brakes and finally getting in the win column with victories over Petaluma (43-16), Sonoma Valley (3-4) 47-0, Napa (0-6) 35-7.
Vintage (4-2) As I said i saw Vintage rising last year and ever since they lost to Wood (5-1, actually thought they wud come out the victors), 35-7 they also put their foot off the Brakes and have won ever since against Acalanes (2-4) 28-27, Lincoln-Stockton (1-5) 26-21, Bellarmine (2-3) 26-14, Casa Grande (1-5) 44-0, Petaluma (4-3) 50-7. Their Preseason did well for the Crushers too.
The series is tied 1-1 with both teams winning as visitors
