With 16 teams the CIF-SS Open comes under criticism...
.

: : : : : : Thank God for socalhoops where fans, parents, players and
coaches can give their opinions since CIF Governing Committee's could
careless about their opinions! 5 out of the 8 games were decided by 17
or more points. Blow out games. These teams should've never been placed
in the Open because it's unfair to their players/teams because all of
them would've probably made the finals of their own division that they
were in giving their kids an opportunity just like CIF allowed all
others to have.I'll bet if
: : : : : these CIF Committee Members had
their daughter on one of these teams, then they'd be complaining of
unfairness. Plus there is a lot of politicing going on with coaches on
the committee and CIF trying to scrap in a few more dollars into their
coffers at the expense of children, who they could really
: : : : :
careless about. All these teams should be rewarded with at least a State
Berth because they would've gotten one if they stayed in their own
division and since the CIF Committee said that they were the best in
their division. I thought CIF wanted the best to face each other in the
State Playoffs? Evidently, they're being hypocrites this year. Only time
will tell to see what they do. CIF has cheated at least half of these
players/teams from having a chance to earn a ring! Hopefully, CIF does
the right thing and give them all at least a State Berth. CIF by picking
16 teams this year has given many other lesser teams/players a better
opportunity for a Championship. It's just not fair and as a parent I
should have a right to stand up for my child, other children and point
out to others when things aren't fair. I thank socalhoops for the
opportunity no other organization allows because they don't care about
fairness.
: : : : : For weeks and even months all we have heard
here is who belongs in the Open Division. Now you are in and lose you
are upset. Listen to yourself, sound like a spoiled brat who is not
getting their way. "It's not fair". Grow up!
: : : : The first
comment is sad. Just another example of all about winning a ring, not
competing against the best. Just a by product of everyone needs to win.
Sorry folks not everyone can win.
: : : :The first post is
obviously a Kepplel parent. The Open Division is a good idea. Anyone who
loves competition sees the genius of it. It balances the divisions and
it brings the best of Socal together. Enrollment as a tool to divide
divisions is an outdated idea.
: : Actually CIF is like the
youth Soccer League with all these lousy teams getting a trophy. The
only Title worth anything is an Open Title and the only Tourney that
isn't worthless is the Open Title. All the other tourneys are just a
bunch of lower level teams trying to win a lower level Championship.
Much like every other Tourney except the elite bracket of ARizona Nike.
All the other tourneys mean nothing. Might as well get your ring out of a
cracker jack box because it's just worth as much for any 1,2,3,4,5,6
Division title. Those are jokes.
: I dont know why they keep
putting Mark Keppel in the open. They have been blown out every year
they got in. Meanwhile you can't tell me Winward is not playing better
than Serra, Mark Keppel, and possibly St. Anthonys at THIS point in the
season. Anyone who saw the LBP vs Winward game knows Winward is playing
well. End of the day it doesn't matter. They chose who they chose and
we all knew from the beginning there are really only 8 teams who have a
legitimate shot at winning it all.First of all, its "Windward"
not Winward. So you need to get informed about the school. Second of
all, St Anthonys beat Windward head to head by 9 three weeks ago and it
wasn't even that close so you obviously haven't done your research on us
as well. St Anthonys had a six point lead with 5 minutes to go AT
ALEMANY so I'm sure they belong right where they are.
