De La Salle has no trouble with Monte Vista in round two

De La Salle avenged an earlier 1-0 loss to Monte Vista with a 14-4 home win on Wednesday. Leading 3-2 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, the Spartans scored seven runs to blow the game open.

Freshman Blake Burke's fifth home run of the season was a two run shot in the decisive fifth inning. He finished with four RBI on the afternoon.

Senior Nick Cirelli went 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBI. Senior Austin Elder (Cal State Northridge) had two doubles.

Monte Vista, which was outhit 15-8, got doubles from AJ Trias and Brandon Yan in the loss.

Sophomore Kyle Harrison (UCLA) got the start for De La Salle and threw five innings of two run ball. Monte Vista junior Josh White (Cal) went four innings and gave up three runs.
