DLS - Poly Streaming

Defenses can jump the snap. It's called timing. You time your jump right, you usually have the upper hand, even if the line rolls on you. Why do you think no one can replicate what DLS does? Discipline. 45-17

Oh you can "jump the snap" prior to your rolling start!?

You don't even know the rules!!!

Get real....LOL :):):):):)

I hope you are writing a paper on the rules of football...

They obviously don't teach that at DLS.

Trinity send their regards ;)
Hey G61, your work with that sign is pretty impressive. Keep it up.

You might want to hold off the attitude until you know the rules...

The fact that you think "rolling starts" are legal at football at any level is downright crazy. Unreal.

Wasn't me talking about rolling starts.

Anything else you want to get wrong tonight?

YOU wanted clarification that the defense couldn't move forward...

Do you not remember now? Do you not know the rules?

And...the offensive MUST COME SET BEFORE SNAPPING THE BALL. THAT IS A RULE FOR EVERYONE :)

No clarification needed on my end.

You tripled down on your bad position.

That's a you problem.

Thanks Ted Smithers for letting some of us know our eye sight is not failing - the video is an accurate depiction of what we see on a regular basis. While DLS fans insist it is a "perfectly legal rolling start", I go with the narrator of the video's description that it is simply "tricky". Surprised more teams don't take advantage in their run games.
Except the narrator can't even spell the city they are from. Hardly engenders confidence in his "evaluation" he has no idea where DLS is from and was so lazy he couldn't take 30 seconds to make sure he had the city right. Makes me very doubtful he bothered to go through the rules. Probably just doesn't like DLS. Anyone can post a YouTube video claiming they are an expert.

Hate to break it to you guys, but EVERYONE... including officials... knows about this and it's not called for a reason. Unless you are so lost in the clouds you believe it's some massive conspiracy to give a particular high school an unfair advantage... ;)

Man, you guys are a glutton for punishment. Why you guys keep feeding the troll is beyond me. There's a lovely ignore feature on this site I suggest you give a try. It's great for filtering out all the non-sense. This thread seemed really disjointed until I figured out whom you guy were referring to. Now it makes sense.

Friday night. Can't wait. Lol

Thanks bodyguard.

That is exactly what I was wondering. Everyone knows this is happening. One can see it while watching a game on the TV or computer. One can see it while watching from the stands. The refs can see it -- if not, the opposing coaches can see it as they certainly expect it and they can tell the refs. All of this, yet there are no flags on what is clearly happening?

Either every ref is incompetent or some people on this board do not know the rules as well as they think they do.

ThunderRam, you're so correct. I'm just a sucker sometimes at ignoring blatant baphoonery. I've always been proud of Northern California football and I support any team from Northern CA that plays anyone outside of Northern CA, so to see someone bashing the communities, facilities, programs and culture of Northern CA programs on this forum, I get quite upset.

Thanks for you're simple and efficient suggestion though!

Got this from the NFL rulebook and can find no evidence that this particular rule is any different at any other level:

"False Start
.
It is a False Start if the ball has been placed ready for play, and, prior to the snap, an offensive player who has assumed a set position charges or moves in such a way as to simulate the start of a play, or if an offensive player who is in motion makes a sudden movement toward the line of scrimmage.

Any quick abrupt movement by a single
offensive player, or by several offensive players in unison, which simulates the start of the snap, is a false start."

I emphasized the key phrases that show that the "rolling start" as DLS does it is not illegal.

Wait a minute....so a "quick abrupt movement" wouldn't be an ENTIRE offensive line conducting a rolling start?

Stop it....Since you copied this rule from the NFL rulebook, can you REALLY imagine an NFL team conducting a "rolling or motioned start!?" It would be flagged every time! LOLLLLLL

NFL rule book is irrelevant you would need to reference the National Federation High School Football rule book 2015 ed.

Well, I'd copy/paste the high-school rulebook, but Google Books won't let me copy/paste. And I'm not going to buy one and scan a page in order to show that it handles this rule in exactly the same way.

As long as they don't get out of sync, lift a hand or foot off the ground, move suddenly forward or lean past the line of scrimmage before the snap, DLS's offensive line is just fine.

Instead of complaining about it, opponents should learn how to teach it to their own kids,

Complaining about it? It is illegal.

Is it good to teach our kids that certain teams can do things and others cant?

Stay with me here....We haven't addressed 2014 yet ;)

For the past year, I've always thought that the CIF committee was gracious enough to toss Folsom a "life ring"...a better chance at State by sparing them from DLS.

In the end, it worked out for the best...BOTH teams doing well at State, and Folsom not exposed to another DLS drubbing.

I absolutely enjoyed watching Folsom beat the heck out of Oceanside; it was a great game for Folsom.

....The way Browning & the rest of Folsom played that game was like DLS against you folks back in '13. Superb!

We were just warming up in 2013 ;)

Remember when the Seahawks lost in the playoffs in 2012 to Atlanta? Turns out, they were just warming up. All there players and system at their peak in 2013 and they win it all.

Crazy huh? :):)

This rulebook nitpicking is ridiculous. If you're going to go "by the book" then every single play there's a hold of some sort.

I'm not a Folsom apologist in the least, but making the assumption that a Folsom v. DLS matchup in 2014 would have anything to do with their matchups in 2012 and 2013 is utterly naive. Totally different seasons, totally different teams. Proof is in the pudding as Folsom's 2012 and 2013 teams didn't display the dominance that the 2014 team did with 16 running clocks. Furthermore, Folsom's 2014 team was vastly superior on defense and on the lines. Anybody that disputes that or refuses to acknowledge so simply doesn't know what they are talking about.

Lastly, what would the reaction of DLS fan be if someone was to claim that future matchups between DLS and Aquinas or Don Bosco Prep would turn out just as they did previously? Would you buy into that?

It really is a naive and unintelligent POV.
