DLS - Poly Streaming

Lastly, what would the reaction of DLS fan be if someone was to claim that future matchups between DLS and Aquinas or Don Bosco Prep would turn out just as they did previously? Would you buy into that? It really is a naive and unintelligent POV.

There are now a lot of dots available to connect...I'd say DLS would struggle, IMHO.

Even with teams like Gorman & John Bosco this year, they would struggle from what I've seen on a few game tapes.

Defensively, DLS does well against teams running the ball, but if you factor in D1-type QBs & receivers, this is where I see them struggling in the Def. Backfield. These skill players are what Bishop Gorman & St. John Bosco have...and I'm not talking about the "wanna-be D1" skill players like what LBP displayed this past weekend.

I'm not a Folsom apologist in the least, but making the assumption that a Folsom v. DLS matchup in 2014 would have anything to do with their matchups in 2012 and 2013 is utterly naive. Totally different seasons, totally different teams. Proof is in the pudding as Folsom's 2012 and 2013 teams didn't display the dominance that the 2014 team did with 16 running clocks. Furthermore, Folsom's 2014 team was vastly superior on defense and on the lines. Anybody that disputes that or refuses to acknowledge so simply doesn't know what they are talking about.

This is the point I have been trying to make all along. Well said...

Point is, what occurred in prior seasons has nothing to do with the present even though a lot of biased fans try their best to make a connection.

I just find it funny that many fans like to point at previous matchups when it's to their advantage but don't at apply that same line of reasoning when it was their team that was on the other side of the prior losses/blowouts. Suddenly, it's a different team. Hell, I bet you'd be hard pressed to find a hardcore DLS fan that doesn't believe the result would be different if they played Trinity again at the end of the season, let alone next season. I actually wouldn't argue against. However, you just can't make an accurate assessment of how a potential matchup would play out based off the previous season or the season before. Apples and oranges.

In the case of Folsom v. DLS, Folsom's 2014 team was A LOT better all the way around than they were the in 2012 or 2013. DLS may have been a better team in 2014 than they were in 2012 or 2013 too. Who knows. But I'm certain their improvement, if there was any, wasn't as steep as Folsom's. How that game would have played out is beyond me or anyone else. The only thing I know for certain is that the results from 2012 and 2013 provides no evidence as to how things might have ended up. If it did, then DLS better not show up for a game against St. John Bosco should they get paired up in the Open. I mean, we've already seen that movie before, right?

I agree. I think they just use that because that is all they have. Many of those same people used last year to bash Folsom despite all the success and national records. It seems that many of those people were upset that there was another team in Northern CA getting national exposure. I found it funny how jealous some people were. Everyone knows DLS's success. I was just surprised many of their "fans" were so self conscious about it. I didn't think they needed to be.

Arrogance can be a killer....

Can you imagine if Folsom ran that same "false start" offense!?

All of you would be on here crying and yelling "cheaters!"

Unbelievable that something so obvious is denied by some because of extreme bias.

It is a false start. Read the rule book.

Still duckin!!! ;)

Even if Folsom used supposedly false start/momentum rolling start at the line of scrimmage, they'll still get spanked by De La Salle :D

Not according to their coaching staff who won't return calls ;)

And we're better than Trinity ;)

First, You can't claim you are better than Trinity when Folsom didn't play them or anyone that is even in the same conversation as them... to claim so is just ludicrous... but I'm sure you will just to keep everyone chiming in.

Second, you keep bringing up that Folsom would have beat DLS last year and is better this year and the only reason you say that is because you won't have to play them... if everything stays the course DLS will be in the Open and Folsom will be competing for the D1 spot... and until DLS comes out and says it ducked Folsom this year I'll go with my gut feeling that this just wasn't the case.

Yes we are better than Trinity. It is what it is. You lost.

I would love to actually see your team prove it... schedule someone next year that matters... playing CVC isn't a national power
Like I said. Give the DLS coaches a call and tell them to return our call.

We are waiting.....

I don't care if its DLS or not.... play a national power.... there are some great ones in CA and many in the surrounding states

Plays CV, beats them by 1. Claims they're a national powerhouse. Folsom can call teams ya know? CV asked to play them, so why can't Folsom call up powerhouses? Scared to leave the smurf turf?

Lol

Lol
This coming from a team that drove 90 miles just to play a team located 10 miles from Folsom and NOT play Folsom....

Interesting...I guess our 4th place league team is good enough for you....

SJSU sucks!

"SJSU sucks!"

G61 -- that's reprehensible behavior, even by your standards. I'm curious to know: at which D1 program did you play football? It must have been very good if you feel that a Mountain West program is just JV. Also while you're at it, please answer another question. You always use the word "we" when referring to the Folsom High School football team. Do you have any association with the program? Are you coach, or parent, or former student or parent? Does anybody at the school know you're on the internet picking fights with players from other high schools, and if so do have they signed off on that?

A Santa Rosa local trying to talk smack!? LOL comical ;)

I think you should focus more on that 1970's, yellow spotted field before you come on here talking trash...

I know SJSU is big time for Sonoma County kids...But up here, we have higher standards ;)

I know jobs are a bit hard to come by in your area...but I think you need one "Quaffer."

That comment just shows your lack of intelligence, there's bigger things in life than high school football. Like an education
LOL that post was simply to demonstrate how stupid Coolio is for posting crap like that when his future coaching staff is reading all his posts...

How do I know that? My good friend is a coach there. Small world ;)

We know EXACTLY who Coolio is :):)

Sorry, G61, but I literally could not care less about your opinion about Sonoma County, and I didn't talk any smack. I asked a couple questions politely. Please answer them. Where did you play your college ball, and what's your connection to the Folsom HS football team?

I can't blow my cover Quaffer... You know that :)

And you do care about my smack talk about Sonoma County....look at all your past replies. What I have said is 100 percent true.

Come up here and watch a real game sometime... ;)

I'm not asking for your name. I think when you call D1 programs JV you should say where that opinion's coming from. Did you play D1 ball? Did you play HS ball? I think when you talk about other teams ducking us, you should identify your general role.

As for your smack, yes, in the past I was foolish enough to get annoyed by a person who gets his kicks by trying to annoy strangers on the internet. But honestly, I'm over being annoyed by you. I just feel sorry for you.

I feel really sorry for you. Living in Sonoma County. No jobs. Families leaving left and right. Declining enrollment. Shifting demographics (you know what I mean) ;);)

Yeah, whatever.

So stop ducking:

Where did you play football?

Have you ever played sports at any level?

What is your connection to the Folsom Football program?

And here's a bonus question: how does your "friend" like you calling SJSU a JV team?

In the words or Happy from the movie Blue Chips- "I'm a friend of the program."

The bonus questions is solid. He doesn't mind. He knows how I mean it. He's with me right now lol.

Now bonus question for u- what do u do for work in Sonoma County? I understand jobs are less than plentiful. Serious question.

Still ducking. Thanks anyway.

Here's what I think:

You've never played football or any other organized sport. You have no appreciation for the hard work required.

You're not a coach, as most coaches respect their opponents and are too smart to be braggarts.

You're not a parent, as you lack the boundaries that most parents learn, and you lack as well as the respect for kids that parenthood brings.

I think that you're a fan. If the coaches even know who you are, they wish that they did not.

Your SJSU friend is imaginary.

As for your question. Why would I give any information to a guy who would just use it for a fresh angle of unprovoked attack? I may live in Sonoma county but I'm not a complete idiot.

Lol you are ducking my question.

Do u not have a job? Be honest. Prove me wrong. You don't have to tell me where u work or anything. I'm asking more in general.

You are also wrong about me...way off. But that's a good thing. My cover is solid ;)

The only sure thing about last year is that it was the best team Folsom ever fielded and if a Folsom-DLS game would have been played it would probably have been the shot at a NorCal team beating DLS in long time, and that each side will guarantee their team would have won.

On a side note Trinity has shown they're a better team than they were pegged as before the season started, I think floating somewhere on the cusp of Top 10 in national polls right now?

Spot on post. This silly argument has gone on for far too long. If you made a list of the top NorCal teams over the last 10 years, those might have been the best two and that is pretty cool. Let's leave it at that.

Lol typical Sonoma County. Jobless.

Let's say that you're correct. What kind of person would say LOL about that? What sort of person enjoys other people's pain and suffering? And enjoys rubbing their noses in it? The sort of person who picks on a HS kid and tells him that his D1 scholarship is to a JV team that sucks?

And why does any of that crap belong on a HS sports board? Why not just talk about HS sports, instead of finding ways to put people down so you can feel better about yourself?

Look, in real life maybe you're a stand up guy. Maybe you really do have a friend, though I doubt it. But your online persona is a nasty piece of work. You should be banned.

Hey that's mean Quaffer ;)

Don't forget about Bellarmine and Serra. Both teams would have beaten DLS had they been able to convert short kicks. The Bells missed an XP for the outright win and Serra missed a short FG for a 2 score lead late in the game. Those were the best shots a NorCal team had. Folsom might have been the next in line had they played last season.

If you made a list of the top NorCal teams over the last 10 years, those might have been the best two and that is pretty cool.

Nah. Grant's fielded several teams better than Folsom 2014 and I'd take a couple teams out of the 2009 D2 bracket to beat them too. Hell, I think it's debatable whether they were better than Folsom's 2010 team -- who couldn't get past the Semi's in 2009 with the same core group of kids. I know the Folsom homers swear that 2014 was the best ever, but I don't see it at all. 2014 was better on the lines, but the skill talent and speed of the 2010 team was so much better and Dano Graves was a bigger threat as a dual threat QB. I think it's a toss up at best.

Forget the 16 running clock thing. While certainly impressive in any season, the depth of good teams in 2014 was nowhere near what it was in 2009 and 2010. 2009 was one of the deepest fields I've ever seen. St. Mary's lost in the Semi's and would have won Section easily most any other season. That was a great team. Same goes for Del Oro, Grant, Folsom and Rocklin. You take any of those teams and warp them into last seasons field and it's by no means a given that Folsom wins.

As great as Folsom was last season, it's overblown because it's been a couple down years for the SJS. That said, I do think Folsom had a decent chance against DLS had they played. Far better than the 2 previous seasons.

I would have to add to that list the 2008 Bellarmine team. They were a better team( possibly the best Bells team ever) and had more talent than the 2011 team that took DLS into double OT.
