Sacred Heart Cathedral beat S.I. at Fairmont Park 5-1. Irish were down 1-0 going into the 6th and scored 3 runs, plus insurance runs in the 7th.

Would it be fair to speculate that the SI baseball program has basically collapsed by this point in the season? It just seems like the issues faced by the coaching staff have been too much to overcome, beginning with that ill-fated non-league journey south, the ensuing spate of WCAL forfeits and who knows what else. The fading Wildcats have Serra left on Friday. Mercifully, that will conclude their depressing 2018 campaign.
