As I'm sure you are aware, that would be an outlier. If they are 88%, that is great for San Mateo (according to this:
https://www.latimes.com/projects/ca...d-19-vaccines-distribution/#county-comparison. San Mateo is 66% fully vaccinated, and 73% one dose, while over half the state is under 50% fully vaxxed) . California is only 63% fully vaxxed, the country is only 49% fully vaxxed, and we will need over 80% to achieve herd immunity, if not more thanks to the Delta variant.
And zero% of 12 and under are vaxxed.
And part of the the Delta variant is that while vaxxed probably won't die or even get sick, it's becoming more apparent we can spread it.
And again, the longer this thing is allowed to hang around, the more likely the next variant will beat the vaccine. Then we would be F'd.
But the simple fact remains, indisputably, case counts are escalating, including in San Mateo county, when with this vaccine, it should be disappearing.
So while it's not the end of the world, it's definitely not the end of the pandemic.
Get vaccinated for christ sakes.
