Yes. The kicker returns from last season and he was solid. Although, you'd never know it as his only PAT attempt last night was woefully off. He's got a strong leg as his kickoffs are deep and about half of them go into the endzone. They were 1 of 3 last night on two point conversions. Could be they want to run as many as possible as it may be needed come WCAL.
M-A was pretty fired up as this was their first home game and had a very nice turnout supporting them. The mood of the Riordan sideline after the game appeared as if hey had lost. They knew if this was a league game, this would have been a sure loss. Offense appeared to show a few new wrinkles and appeared to be different plays they ran against SHP. Sanders was used exclusively throughout with Caston and Greene in the backfield seldom in the first half and a bit more in the second half. Luavasa didn't have his best game passing, but did move the chains. Penalties killed them. Nice to see the backup qb get some reps late in the game. Crusader D bent but did not break for most of the game. O/D line play remained strong following last week's game giving the Crusader linebackers (Ilalio, Caston and Russell) the opportunity to blow up plays deep in Bear backfield and coming away with multiple sacks. Will be interesting what Fordon will do to the running game. They have plenty of big fb-type rbs in Caston, Greene and the soph, Lasa Tofi. Josh Boone is a speedster that can also be added in mix. Greene looks really good this season after being injured the past two seasons. He runs downhill and has some nice moves and acceleration. Could be his opportunity to shine this year. Lots of works to be done and Crusaders know it. In seasons past, they would be celebrating a AAA win (lol!), but last night felt like a loss.
