Good on Coach B for stepping up. Let's go Piedmont, represent!

Piedmont beat Iolani 60-42 this evening.
Piedmont, (8-0) plays Rancho Christian (Temecula, 8-1), Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
McClathy, (9-2) plays Mission Hills (San Marcos) at 7:30 p.m.
Oak Ridge, (7-6) plays Jasper Place (Alberta, Canada)
Christian Brothers, (9-0) plays Tesoro (Rancho Santa Margarita, 11-5)

Did Folsom have travel issues getting down there?
Don't know. Pretty tough to play four straight games at Nike TOC in Arizona, fly home, and then travel to play four straight games in San Diego with Christmas weekend in between. Plus Folsom has had a couple injuries to key players. Maybe that's why Sierra Canyon and LJCD are not playing tournaments this week. Rest.

Piedmont defeats Westview in a nail-biter 55-54. Piedmont plays in the championship game Friday against Corona Centennial.

Nice Christian Brothers (Sacramento) winning their division over Gladstone (Oregon), 55-46

Tough loss for McClatchy (Sacramento) in the Premier Division against Westview today, losing 57-58 on Westview's buzzer beater. Nina Cain fouled out with a couple minutes left in the 4th qtr. McClatchy lost to Centennial yesterday in OT. Yesterday, Westview lost by one point to Piedmont. Westview is now 12-1, MaxPreps #2 in San Diego Section behind La Jolla Country Day.

Final Piedmont 85 CC 67
Piedmont is the real deal
Agree! Piedmont made it a comfortable win over a very good SoCal team. They are for real. They have made a remarkable improvement from last season. Looking at their remaining schedule, they could finish undefeated for the regular season.

Question now is will they play at the D4 level in the NCS section and D2 level in the NorCal post season like last season, despite currently being MaxPreps #1 in the California D4 Level, #1 in the North Coast Section, and MaxPreps #11 in California?

Other NorCal Teams on Day 4:

NCAA West Division (3rd Division):

Oak Ridge lost today to Mater Dei Catholic of Chula Vista, 70-48 in championship game for this division. Went 3-1 and a good showing.

NAIA East Division (6th Division):
Santa Cruz had an easy win today beating Chapparal, 68-30. Went 2-2, finishing 5th in the division.

FIBA East Division (7th Division):
California (San Ramon) beat Lathrop easily today 61-21 to finish 3rd in the division, and Lathrop finishing 4th. California went 3-1, losing to division winner Poway.

If Piedmont wins the NCS D4 they will be put no worse than D1 in the Norcals. Just see what the CIF did to Marin Catholic last year when they won the D4.

BUT

I don't think the "OPEN" rule for NCS D4 applies at the state level. So unless there is a MAJOR upset in the D4 sections they are State Norcal Open bound.
