What Is Really Happening?

As a once often poster many years ago and someone who followed the site for years, what is the true internet of some of these posters.

We have violent incidents taking place in Oakland affecting KIDS, and shots are fired at others commenting about the unfortunate violence that at the end of the day KIDS PAY FOR.

Are some of you that heartless. Is this your battleground? Is this where you make ways to prove your knowledge and be Mr Bravo.

Years ago on the way to a state title in basketball I walked in a damn gym during the Nor Cal Tournament and has to go thru a God Damn metal detector for Christ’s Sakes. That was in 2002 in Sacramento.

So what happens some use the oh it’s dark humor. LMAO, no it’s WHO YOU ARE DEEP DOWN.

Then suddenly some guy from the South has so much interest and throws darts at smart kids from Silicon Valley and why does he care, the top two teams in the nation play in the league he supports.

At the end of the day I don’t believe one damn poster on here is in high school, but a couple of you sure the hell act like it.

If your going to personally insult a adult then be man enough to meet the respective adult.

But ultimately this site was awesome back in the day and Streak has maintained that. However we talk about violence in Oakland and Richmond on a High School related site and people throw darts.

That is as pathetic as it gets. And we all know who is in first and second place. And as someone who was connected to a very close program for 7 years, if we ever had someone in the stands represent us as such, we would tell them to STFU.

Bottom line is banter and bragging rights are fantastic, but when one says the other day due to a game being cancelled in Oakland and one throws a dart saying to another well known poster and taking a shit on here something about living in a high rise, yeah sorry it ain’t a joking matter.

At the end of the day this site is to support kids becoming men, but what’s sad is a few don’t even come close to acting like MEN. You should be proud.

HSWIZARD over and out. Sorry, I can’t debate with adults who act like I am back in high school as a senior in 1991. Peace out.

PS: Don’t know how many have actually coached on here, but if you have, you know all kinds of shit happens at private schools and public, it’s the adults coaching that navigate all they can. The clown fans in the stands don’t do nothing. And those fans that keep it positive, much love. Cause at the end of the day it’s a kids game.

Is Sparty Done!?

Dismal performance against Monterrey Trail. They were in danger of losing at one point in Elk Grove.

They lose to Serra last night. Frankly, the game shouldn't have been that close. Serra should have won by THREE TDs. Serra made too many mistakes and kept turning it over in the red zone. That kept DLS in the game. Just observing the quality of play and players, Serra was on a whole different level than DLS overall.

Folsom shot themselves in the foot against Serra by fumbling on the 1 and turning it over in the RZ multiple times. I felt Folsom was better, especially if they didn't lose Lyons.

The bigger question is- Is Sparty done? The young families with kids are starting to leave that area and more and more people are gravitating towards the upper echelon publics. DLS isn't poaching the best kids in the Bay or Saramento anymore. Maybe it's the offense they don't want to play in? Maybe its tuition?

My opinion- SPARTY IS DONE: as a top program in NorCal.

SFL Opening League Play

With a combined record of 26-4 the best league in NorCal is a grinder! Each game will be a blast to watch with great players and coaches. The football quality is top notch. Would love to get thoughts and predictions on the opening league games. Let’s roll!

Folsom @ Oak Ridge
Granite Bay @ Del Oro
Rocklin @ Whitney

PCAL WEEK 6

PCAL Week 6

No real big surprises in last weeks game. The only “upset” was Soquel taking down a very good Scott’s Valley team. Big win for the Knights following their humbling loss to Palma the week prior. In the Gabilan: Salinas finally pulled away from Hollister in the 4th qtr. QB1 for Salinas has a great grasp of this offense he makes really good reads and has a lot of talent on the outside with the 2 DI receivers. As I have mentioned before, Salinas will be a tough out for Serra. Aptos continued to roll, while Palma looks like they have their “mojo” back after a shaky start, although that Mitty loss does not look as bad anymore.

In the Mission Soquel is in the driver’s seat, after their hug win vs Scott’s Valley. Meanwhile Monterey has a new QB1 and put up 50 on MVC. Monterey will make some noise in this division. Carmel’s offense is super inconsistent, but their defense pitched a shutout vs North Salinas. The Cypress looks like it will go through Rancho San Juan and their RB1. He is putting up same great stats: 970 yards and 20 TD’s in 5 games. But ST Francis and Soledad are n the near future and their defenses are legit. In the Santa Lucia, Gonzales, Greenfield and RLS look lie the team to beat.

There are a lot of mismatches this weekend.

Last week 10-2 Overall 56-30

Gabilan

Fri 09/30 Palma (Salinas, CA) at Alisal (Salinas, CA), 7:30pm – Alisal will try to slow the game down with their running, but Palma defense is too good. Palma 28-0

Fri 09/30 Hollister (CA) at Alvarez (Salinas, CA), 7:30pm – This maybe the closest game this weekend, especially if Hollister come in dragging after emotional game with Salinas. But Hollister should handle their business. Hollister 35-7

Fri 09/30 Santa Cruz (CA) at Salinas (CA), 7:30pm – Salinas is really, really good, Santa Cruz should be in the Cypress this year. Salinas “whatever they want” to 0

Mission

Fri 09/30 North Salinas (Salinas, CA) at Monterey (CA), 7:30pm – North Salinas was scrappy and kept the game close to Carmel last week, but Monterey will be to quick for them this week. Monterey 38-7

Fri 09/30 Monte Vista Christian (Watsonville, CA) at Seaside (CA), 7:30pm -One of the better PCAL matches of this week. Both teams looking to challenge for that third playoff spot. Loser is probably out of playoff picture. Seaside 24-21

Sat 10/01 Soquel (CA) at Carmel (CA), 2:00pm – Carmel’s offense the past 3 weeks has scored 22 Points, combined, yet they are 2-1 in those games. Padre’s best chance is if Soquel is emotionally drained after last week’s big win vs Scott’s Valley. Coach Lowery won’t allow that. Soquel grinds out a win. Soquel 17-8

Cypress

Fri 09/30 King City (CA) at Rancho San Juan (Salinas, CA), 7:30pm – It is King City’s turn to try and slow down the Rancho Running back 1. Not sure that they will be able to. Rancho 28-14

Fri 09/30 Watsonville (CA) at Soledad (CA), 7:30pm – Soledad is 4-1 with a close loss to a good Soquel team and a defense that only gives up 11 points a game. This team should not be overlooked. You can safely overlook Watsonville. Soledad 34-7

Sat 10/01 North Monterey County (Castroville, CA) at St. Francis (Watsonville, CA), 12:30pm – NMC had a very close loss to Soledad. This team has been playing better lately. But St. Francis has been giving a up a total of 3 Points a game. Granted they have had a very easy schedule, but still impressive. NMC keeps it close but. St. Francis 13-7

Santa Lucia

Fri 09/30 Greenfield (CA) at Harbor (Santa Cruz, CA), 7:30pm – Greenfield coming off of a bye should have no trouble with Harbor. Greenfield 28-7

Sat 10/01 Gonzales (CA) vs Marina (CA) at Monterey Peninsula College (Monterey, CA), 6:00pm- After a great start Marina has come back to earth with 2 straight losses. Meanwhile Gonzales looks to build off its first win of the season. Gonzales 35-20

Sat 10/01 Stevenson (Pebble Beach, CA) at San Lorenzo Valley (Felton, CA), 12:30pm – SLV has just dropped off. This once proud program is really struggling. They were blown out by a below average Pajaro Valley team. RLS should have no problem in taking care of the Cougars. RLS 31-7

Amador High Season Ends

Amador High of Sutter Creek has forfeited the remainder of their games due to a “highly inappropriate group chat”.
Does anyone know any more about this situation?

The Truth Uncovered

Very interesting to read an article that appeared in the Sacramento Bee regarding the teams in the SFL and how each is impacted by transfers who came into their respective programs after starting high school elsewhere.

"The Bee reviewed varsity football rosters for every team in the Sierra Foothill League and checked four years of data from the Sac-Joaquin Section to find how many kids moved into a school’s football program after they already had started high school. Folsom had 18 kids on their roster last year who transferred into the program.

Folsom’s 18 transfer
s are an eye-popping number, but the quality of those transfers is also impressive. They include the team’s top receiver, two quarterbacks and starting tight end".

I think that is a true measure of why Folsom has emerged as a power in Northern California high school football.

When Referees Should Let the Kids Just Play

A great game last night in Concord and congratulations to Folsom! One complaint I do have;

When DLS scored their touchdown to go ahead and their qb spun the ball in end zone, was there really a reason to call a 15-yard penalty? That 15 yards contributed greatly to Folsom being able to drive down and score the winning td.

There are times when a high school players youthful enthusiasm should be allowed. Referees, don't decide the outcome of a game with an ill-timed penalty call.

Is it time to start capping roster / program sizes?

Public school football is dying in many places.

Im at the Serra / Saint Francis game this evening with my kids when my son starts innocently counting helmets on the sideline. In both cases, he counted beyond the mid 50s. This did not include the boys on the field tonight nor the (hopefully) small number of boys who were out with injuries.

With turnout low in places like San Jose, San Francisco and many small cities and towns in between, the question is whether or not it is time to start capping team and program roster sizes and not just at the schools with no enrollment boundaries (*cough* *cough* privates *cough* *cough*) but at schools that only recruit…I mean ADMIT students from within their own geographical boundaries.

I personally do not see a reason as to why any high school would need a roster larger than that of an NFL franchise. In fact, I feel as if there is no need for any more than 53 combined within all levels of a program below varsity football. That means that whether you choose to have a JV program or Freshman and Sophomore Football, the combination of those “sub-varsity” teams should not add up to a sum greater than 53.

In turn, I feel this would assist some of the areas struggling to field teams populate their rosters without really affecting the cream of the crop schools who would still hold the leverage to keep those kids they feel give their program the best chance to win football games while disposing those they didn’t feel as strongly about back to their assigned schools.

As for those kids who do not cut it at the school they are zoned to, the State of California begun allowing athletically motivated transfers years ago.

thoughts on this idea?

Whatever Happened to the QB SNEAK?

Is it just me or did Folsom’s win over DLS have to be that hard? First and goal from the 1 with less than 2 minutes to play and Folsom, with a 6-foot-6, 220-pound QB, runs every play from the spread-shotgun formation. The first three plays — including two passes! — go nowhere and it takes a Lambeau Leap by said QB to finally score. I see this way too much in football, from the preps to the pros.
No one squats behind the center and just sneaks it. Infuriating. I know, It’s an old fashioned way of thinking, but still …
And while I’m at it: Stay off my
Lawn!!!
