Here's the lineup for this year's Archbishop Riordan Crusader Classic.
Dec 1st
  • Davis vs Terra Nova 6pm
  • Mission vs Riordan 7:30pm
Dec 2nd
  • Tamalpais vs San Ramon Valley 6pm
  • Sacred Heart Prep vs Inderkum (Sacramento) 7:30pm
First time Crusader Classic participant, Inderkum (Sacramento) appears to be the solid favorite after their convincing win against Bishop O'Dowd at last weekend's NorCal Tip-off. Inderkum is athletic, long, tall and deep led by a pair of guards 6-4 and 6-6.
Riordan fell behind early against Grant last Saturday and was unable to overcome the deficit and has its work cut out this week to get back on track and will be a good tune up for the Gridley Invitational the following week. Mission, Sacred Heart Prep and San Ramon Valley always have competitive teams. Tamalpais and Davis are also newcomers to the Crusader Classic. Overall, should be a great week of hoops in the City.

Riordan 85 - Mission 43 - only watched a few minutes of this game on the stream. Mission is down big-time from 2020 and earlier teams. Also I didn't think that Riordan looked particularly good enough and i can't see them challenging for the WCAL title this year either.

SHP is the real deal with solid wins against Inderkum and Riordan. The Gators are a senior laden team that would be title contenders in the WCAL this year.
Crusaders still figuring things out with 8 underclassemen including 2 sophs and a promising freshman. 3 players still out incl 2 transfers. Very good depth on this team with 9 players ranging 6-3 to 6-6 that are long and athletic. Coach Curtin has the team playing a challenging schedule and the below mentioned WCAL grind should have this team prepared for a solid post season run. JVs took the Purple and Gold Classic and appear to be strong once again under coach Bryan Thomasson.

Sacred Heart Prep will enter the SF Chronicle Top 20....Honestly they should be in the top 10!

Huge wins over Inderkum, SRV, and Riordan......Agree with Ethan...they are an Open team this year!

Centennial may have something to say about that Socal Open. Norcal rep will have to shoot 60% with friendly refs to stay within 10

Yeah, I've seen a little of Centennial online. A truly scary team.

being an open team just means you lose to sierra canyon. i would rather be in a lower division
Are they referring to SHP being an Open team in the CCS playoffs, or the state playoffs? Huge difference. Only 2 CCS teams were chosen for the Open in the state playoffs 2 years ago (Bellarmine & Mitty), the last year they were played.

oh maybe the section playoffs then

SHP could potentially be the #1 seed going in to the CCS Open. Depends on how badly the WCAL teams beat each other up in league. WCAL looks to be very competitive top to bottom this year.
