Great run for JBS 2021. They have been one of the top club teams in NorCal regardless of class and playing 2021/2022 players. Will be great if this group stays together.
Any word on top performers?
Did the JBS 2020 win a big title as rising juniors too?
It was a great performance by a group of young ladies all have championship mentality and refused to lose. They all were willing to do whatever it takes to win games.
Jzaniya Harriel - Proved she is a legit 5 star recruit in NorCal. Unbelievable performance by Harriel every game. She has the mentality of a true leader, who leads by example. Down by 18 in the first half to Kansas City United, by far has one of the best players I’ve seen in a long time. Jzaniya knocks down six threes in the second half and finish with 32 to secure the win. Stanford was watching.
Ahrray Young - is the best 2022 in the state. High level competitive motor, pg ball handling skills and phenomenal defender. Ahrray recruiting is about to go through the roof. There’s nothing this kid can’t do. Think in the mode of Mirah Moore. Special talent.
Annika Decker - possible one of the best pg I’ve seen in JBS program. Competes at all levels, tremendous facilitator of the basketball and hard nose on ball defense. Annika in knocking down the 3-ball. When I’m amazed most about Annika, this seems to be no stage too big for her. She shows up and play basketball with matter who it is. Coaches need to take notice.
Kaijia Lesane - Game changer. No one plays as hard and physical as Kai. She makes all the hustle/intangible plays that nobody else can do. You cannot teach/coach what Kai brings to the games. She has continued to improve her jumpshot and is hitting the 3-ball. Coaches stated, she is a joy to watch.
Courtni Thompson - very identical to Decker, the Pinewood kids play the game of basketball the right way. Courtni made big shots, after big shots, after big shots. It’s been a joy to coach the Pinewood players. Courtni is an amazing on-ball defender and can play pg or shooting guard positions. Both Annika and Courtni has the skills levels to play at the D1 level.
Paisley Specht - Another player who continues to improve her game and is making noise on the National seen. Paisley, Is a strong guard who can defend anybody on the court and plays with tremendous passion. Paisley, also has improved her jumpshot and is making the three-point ball consistently
The 2022 member - Paris Green, Julia Riley and Zoe Tillery all made strong contributions and are the future of JBS program.
It’s funny, to say a club team is performing at a high-level on the recruiting circuit due to their intensity on defense and attention to details, but this team is winning because of their desire to make defensive stops and not worried about who’s scoring or not.
Sometime club basketball can be a different animal, but this had been a joy to be a part of.
