i thought that was the rule tooHe will turn 19 before the school year starts. I was under impression that would make one ineligible but HEAT posted below that is not the case.

COVID didn’t change anything . Rule is if your 19 on June 15 or later you are eligible. . That’s all sports . Basketball starts in NovemberCovid changed some things.
I agree that schools should play in their enrollment division and if they have the track record and want to play up, they can petition the NCS to move up.I think every team should play within the enrollment period. Didn’t say Riordan should play D5. But how can two teams play D4, one is penalized and moves to D2 and the other is rewarded and moves to D5 and that team didn’t even make the finals. This doesn’t make any bit of sense. Play your division. If you want a open or D1 as it was back in the day, petition up. But the movement in all of this is hilarious to me and explains why one dude in the junior and senior class combined nationally ranked was in the building. Sure many have gone the prep school route. But many pros and not time college players stay. Riordan back in the day knocked out two future NBA players in D3. Bring that back. To watch a a few teams with 10 or more losses in a state title game is pretty weak in my book. And to have a team like St Joes who is 0-11 in league to even be in the conversation, come on. I love the Pilots, but why are they even in the sectionals.
I think the ‘point’ he may have been making is that kids who turn ‘19’ in the summer are generally preparing for their sophomore year of college, not their senior year of high school. So what is your point . And if your a coach you would know this doesn’t matter
First of all, I am stating Facts. So my point is giving you what's true.So what is your point . And if your a coach you would know this doesn’t matter
Thank you!I think the ‘point’ he may have been making is that kids who turn ‘19’ in the summer are generally preparing for their sophomore year of college, not their senior year of high school.
No Harm No Foul
dang thats wild. so buddy can be 19 and a full adult kicking it with minors. all so you can hoop? sounds like a case waiting to happen.COVID didn’t change anything . Rule is if your 19 on June 15 or later you are eligible. . That’s all sports . Basketball starts in November
I’m assuming most of us know examples of kids starting school a bit later, or being held back early on (for a myriad of reasons), which made them a bit older than their classmates as they progressed through their education. But to turn 19 before one’s senior year even begins, seems a bit Cray-Cray (IMHO).dang thats wild. so buddy can be 19 and a full adult kicking it with minors. all so you can hoop? sounds like a case waiting to happen.
I will tell this story again, it's been awhile. I went to what's considered the toughest problem school in the country. John Marshall Junior High.I’m assuming most of us know examples of kids starting school a bit later, or being held back early on (for a myriad of reasons), which made them a bit older than their classmates as they progressed through their education. On the brightside, he was eligible to drive Carpool before his Frosh year began. 🚗
