After watching the 2021 season, my takeaway is this… It is still De La Salle and Pittsburg ahead of everyone else. Maybe more than ever. The two dismantled and humbled every NCS team they faced, and it took injuries and top opponents to beat them. The remaining NCS teams are pretty equal with each other, which is why I agree with the competitive equity playoff format proposed on another thread on this site. It will give other programs a chance to build back up to compete with Pitt and DLS.
It will be interesting to see how the off-season goes with new coaches around the NCS. Berean Christian, Deer Valley and Pinole Valley have head varsity jobs open, and word is Liberty will be open soon. It was a fun season though and look forward to what 2022 hs to offer.
