With all the comments on the DLS-Folsom game, one would think that there are no other teams in the area. Some of these teams are going through some rough times and need something said about them even if they are going no where this season.
We have a possible shoot out in the Vine League between Vintage, ,American Canyon and Napa for the league champ...
The same goes for the NorthBay-Rewood league as Montgomery and Santa Rosa may decide the champ and in the NorthBay- Oak, Cardinal Newman and Rancho Cotate will go head to head again to see who is top dog...
The Tri-County Stone league could very well be Pinole, but its early yet....

Another new league is the Foothill Valley League in the SJS. It is a Division III league and consists of Nevada Union, Ponderosa, Rio Linda, Placer, Lincoln, and Oakmont.

DIII in the SJS will be very interesting.

Revamped CAL league with Sac High, Christian Brothers, Del Campo, Capital Christian, Vista Del Lago, Rio Americano and El Camino should be pretty competitive. All teams playoffs teams last year except El Camino. Definite step up in competition for Capital Christian.

Central Catholic, Oakdale, Manteca and Patterson in out of the Southern part of the section make it a strong Division, as well as Vacaville in the MEL.

I know not all teams will end up in D3, but im still not entirely sure how that all works.

"Rough times." Could you be more specific? Are we talking about low roster numbers, lack of coaches, lack of program consistency, lack of interest overall, etc.? Thanks.

Tri Stone - How will DeAnza be? May agree wit ya on Pinole Valley,,,do not know wut happened at Bethel lately...hope to see Vallejo rise again

Vine League - Vintage at the top...Nap & American Canyon have new coaches...how will Casa Grande be this year?

NB Redwood...Healdsburg at the top... thought Montgomery was rising up but now they looking for a new coach (?)

NB-Oak- CN, RC, Analy...how will Windsor be?

FVL-SJS is a nice league...Placer, Nevada Union (New Coach?), how will Rio Linda be?

CAL-SJS is real nice too...toss up for me...Capital Christian at the top?

As for the Mel...as some one else posted o another thread..Vacaville is different 5-10 years ago...but they always put up a fight...

SJS-DIII looks real solid...

Go Vacaville Bulldogs!

Colhenrylives....All of the above, plus many of these schools are not drawing kids needed to start winning games...Many of these schools are producing average players and they are not going through cycles of winning periods followed by rebuilding....Also, kids are not coming out of the woodwork that turns a program around....When they do, in todays thinking, move to a winning team...

One of the problems of Vacaville, is the new home additions have been hit by age, there are a few new sections, but by far, it won't produce like it has in the past. Most of the new construction is falling into the Vanden school dist. and the Vikings will be a power to deal with in the near future...the Bulldogs are going to win some games, but they are going to be hard fought.
DeAnza I doubt we will see little change, Bethel and Vallejo will stay the same.....I bet Dick Bass and his team mates are turning over in their graves they way Vallejo has turned out. S.O.S...The NB-Oak we will see Windsor cause trouble and Analy has run its course plus RC and CN will fight out for the league championship.
Healdsburg did not do well in 2017, but will make Montgomery and Santa Rosa take notice that they are in for a fight...

Central Catholic has to go D2 But still the championship in D3 goes through the VOL. with CC in D2 and both Manteca and Oakdale reloading yes it could be interesting this year.

NBL Oak - Maria Carillo has an interesting athlete in Tyler Van Arden, a 6'-3" 230 lb track state sprint finalist, but lost key skill position players to transfer(Montgomery). Stability at the HC position has Ukiah with stability. Windsor will be a solid defensive team. Both Rancho and Newman has athletes that should see D1 interest this year. Analy seems to have less athletes than they had a few years ago.
NBL Redwood - Rumors that the returning QB for Monty might not be eligible for the first 5 or 6 games. Santa Rosa has an old school offense(run oriented) that will catch some area schools off guard, but lost a stud in Blake Thomas to graduation. I don't see Healdsburg being in the top half of the league. El Molino works hard and has an intriguing RB and SB that will cause problems for a lot of teams. Piner should be on the bubble and could be a playoff team with a few decent breaks. Elsie Allen can only get better.
