Not sure where you got that info but Carmel doesn’t have a female running back. Dakota Morningwig was featured in your post and is one of several playmakers on that Carmel squad. Impressive win for the Padres!

Good luck with Clovis... you guys have plenty of talent, just came up short tonight.

Story of David vs. Goliath tonight, what a great game to watch, The little school of 650 surfers took down the mighty school 4x it’s size. Salinas will get better but will have their hands full with the “Wizard” of Clovis!

Carmel has around 900 kids. Of course it’s still an impressive win; they will be the odds on favorite now in all their remaining games including the playoffs.

Saw it on twitter.

In any event nice Carmel win. I think Salinas players may have discounted the Pads by letting their results last season and all the local papers and prep sites ranking them number one in league and the area get to their heads and Camel is good.

Carmel should be favored in the rest of their games and will probably be undefeated when playoffs role around. Carmel's largest problem is lack of depth. They are 1 injury away form being a great team to being a above average team. If they stay healthy they will be the favored for the CCS DIV/V (depending where they get placed) championship.

The question is whether they try to opt up to the open DIII?? Probably too early to speculate, but after a big win it's fun to think about. And Dakota Mornhinweg is not a female...

Scotts Valley should be a good game. They return alot including 3 year starter at QB and defeated Carmel last season. However, you are right - Carmel could run the table with the rest of their schedule.

I know gender is pretty fluid these days, but yeah... I was impressed with Carmel’s playmakers on offense. Lee has shown nice growth in decision making and is a pretty elusive runner when he leaves the pocket.

The most impressive thing though was Carmel’s shut down Defensive backs. They are an experienced group and basically allowed Carmel to blitz almost every down. And Robert Brown was a wrecking ball on the defensive line. At 260lbs he was running down ball carriers from behind, and demanded double teams all night from Salinas huge O-line.

If Carmel can learn to squib kick a bit deeper and not give up an extra 25 yards of field position every time they kick off they will be even more successful. Impressive squad.
