DLS is Crushing PITT 10-1 in the 3rd inning…. CVC doing the same to SRV 9-0 in the 4Th….

Looks like CVC already pulled their #1 Pitcher Ryder Oakley in the 2nd inning to save him for the championship game…. 🤣

Newman punches ticket to ncs finals with 5-2 win over BOD.
They will meet a good Campo team Saturday who took care of redwood Christian.

I think Franklin /Whitney series will be fantastic. I hope to catch a game .

I am Really Happy for Campo and Their 1st year Coach Julian Flammengo!!… Coach Mengo was Coach Tarpley’s Top Assistant at College Park…. He is a great coach and the kids just luv him!….

This will be a really interesting match up because it looks like Graham Schildt who is a Stanford Commit will go for Campo against that Brutal CN lineup…. He pitched 8 innings last Friday in Their 9 inning win!!

Would Luv to go to this game but a little far for me, will likely be at the DLS vs CVC game which should be a great one…..

In a one game series you never know.
Some really good baseball right now. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Franklin win the entire thing this year.

Yeah one game can be a toss up. St. Vincent was up 6-0 to start the 6th, gave up 8 the last 2 innings, ouch!

DLS takes Down CVC 7-3…. 6 Runs in the 1st 2 innings…. What I don’t understand is why CVC didn’t start their Ace Ryder Oakley who only pitched 2 innings last week….. By the time they Brought him in the game they were down 4-0 with 1 out in the first inning!!!!…. 🤣

After that it was a 3-3 game…. Sometimes these coaches just try to get to cute with strategy…. That is why Jeans always wins, he is so used to playing in these games, he never gets out coached…. I really thought CVC could knock DLS off today…. Congrats to The Spartans!!!…. 🍻

Congrats to the Athenian Owls after completing a pretty epic last couple weeks of NCS baseball.

6-14 entering NCS D5 as an 8 seed….they took down the 9, 1,4 and 2 seeds all in order. Finishing it off with a win @University today. 4-1 in extras.

Uni had the bases loaded with 1 out 1-1 and couldn’t get that run home to win it in extras.

Athenian responded with an unbeliever 8th inning to go up 4-1.

NorCal Tourney question: I see last year there were some at large berths included, as well as CN played in D1. Are there changes this year? Will we see CN in D1 again this year, or will they play in D3?

I don’t see any way newman stays in d3. They’ve been #1 or #2 in norcal all year and a top 5 team in state. They have to handle a very good campo team today but I see them getting pulled up. I still like Franklin to win it all.

I'm pretty new to the the NorCal world of Baseball. According to the CIF State website, there does not seem to be any changes to the seeding criteria from the 2022 season. Here are the criteria for 2023.

SEEDING MEETING DATE
Sunday, May 28, 2023
*Seeding meetings are closed to the public and media
Criteria Considered for Divisional Placement and Hosting of Regional Games (not listed in any particular order)
a. Win-Loss Record (Preseason, League, Section Playoffs)
b. Strength of Schedule (Preseason, League, Section Playoffs)
c. Head-to-Head Competition
d. Common Opponents
e. Opponents Win-Loss Record
f. Various rankings may be consulted when placing teams (i.e., MaxPreps, SB Live, etc.)
g. Suitability to represent the State Championship with regards to Pursuing Victory with Honor and acceptable standards of sportsmanship.
Teams must compete and qualify through their respective CIF Section Championships to participate in CIF State/Regional Championships.

And just like last year, the Blue Pages states that there will be no enrollment cap in any of the 5 divisions.

No Problem!!…. It was a great game!!…. The Starting Pitchers were awesome!!…. Schildt for Campo went 6.1 innings and had only given up 3 hits until a single and double in the 7th….

Lema for CN was equally impressive going 6 inning allowing 4 hits and striking out 8!!!…. CN is a Great Team!!!!….

Tough loss for Coach Mengo, we Luv him and Miss him at College Park…. So happy for him though, Campo has a GREAT Coach and the future is bright with a young team!!!!….

Can’t wait to see what the D1 Regional looks like with the likes of DLS, CN, VC, CVC, Franklin, all likely to be in there!!!…

Casa got the pretty rare sweep with Softball getting their first NCS title in over 20 years in D2 also and baseball today.

You can also throw in Whitney and CVC to the mix, will be a brutal bracket!!!…

I like your top 4, we may see CN get the 2 because they have been so highly ranked all year, but either way if this plays out what a semi final round this would be!!….

Hard to think there will not be an upset though in the first round…. I will be pulling for CN!…. College Park has played them the last 2 years, as well as the summer and fall teams…. Class program and Fans!!… I hope they win it all!….

Good call on CN at #2. Debendetti is a great coach and former student at Newman. He is building a big time program. So much good baseball being played.
