SHC vs. SI Soccer at Kezar 1-14-2014

Sure takes a long time for these posts to drop-off.

Sacred Heart Cathedral and their 8 sophs on the varsity soccer team play SI at their annual Kezar night game on Tuesday, January 14th at 7:00pm. Girls game starts at 5:00.

SI Girls took the first game 5-0.

SHC guys took their game 2-1. Irish scored at the 10:40 mark in the first half on a comparatively warm night at Kezar Stadium. It was 58° out there and no wind or fog at all. I'd like to see this during football season.

In the second half, SHC scored late in extra time on an empty-net goal to make it 2-0. Right before the end of extra time, the refs gave SI a penalty kick (not a direct kick. I'm not sure what they call it) and scored, making the final 2-1 Irish. Refs whistled the game over about 30 seconds later. Good game too. At least somebody can beat these guys.

It was. About 200 in attendance.
Weather was in the upper 50's. Usually it's freezing out there.
