The game of the week went according to plan, but was not expected to be a shut out as Folsom defense stood firm, but could not stop the Spartans , but DLS did all they could to score 14 points and it took the second half to get the job done.

What was not listed as a big game was CVC knocking off Pittsburg in the first shocker of the night and it took two OT's to get the job done On paper, Pittsburg looked like hell on wheels and was expected to route the Eagles, but instead, CVC's defense held in their and the offense came through in the second OT to dump Pittsburg 38-31...The Pirates led 24-21 going into the fourth quarter in what looks like a fight for their live and then CVC came up with 17 points and down went Pittsburg 38-31

Great week of HS football. Del Oro looked really good, but the game was not over at half, at one point in the 3rd, Amador had the ball down 8 driving. Too many big plays by DO. Not the same Casey Taylor Golden Eagles.

CVC asserts itself as the #2 in Open Division. Pitt vs Liberty just got a whole lot interesting. SRV could be in the mix also.

Freedom with a big comeback win to start the Cotter era. Moreau got itself a big win in coaches debut as well against SPSV. Piedmont, Encinal all opened with wins for new HC. Logan looks like it battled Eureka. I see Eureka and Newman on a collision course with what they have coming back in D3.

Last but not least...ALL HAIL SPARTA! They will only get better offensively each week with a sophomore QB. What a performance from Terry Eidsons crew on Friday night.

Berean Christian dropped their two first preseason games as they had a low turnout and want to come into the season fresh...Any injuries could result in games being canceled so they were done now....Berean Christian, although with a small turn out will be tough to deal with....

ANT THOUGHTS

The Amador v Del Oro game was closer than you think if not for a bogus holding penalty on a 50 yd td catch by Amador the game at that point would have been 33 to 35 a 2pt conversation would have tied the game, also the player that caught the 68 yard touchdown and the fore mentioned touchdown was out almost a quarter with leg cramps. After that holding penalty Amador seemed down and out of it.

The second touchdown on this clip was called back on a bogus holding penalty that would have possibly tied the game. This player also caught a 68 yard td, unfortunately he was also out for most the second and the beginning of the third.
