Head Coaches Clint Birch and Adam Wight are excited to welcome California's elite wrestling program's to Vacaville High School for a rare quad dual meet, featuring THREE NATIONALLY RANKED PROGRAMS IN ONE GYM!

Clovis High School's wrestling program, coached by Steve Tirapelle and Ben Holscher, is on a historic run in California wrestling history, having captured the last 3 CIF State tournament championships, and are on track to make it a record setting 4th in a row. Led by the #1 heavyweight in the nation, Penn State recruit and two-time state champion Nick Nevills, the Cougars feature 11 athletes ranked in the top ten in their weight class. This year, Clovis has already won tournament titles at the Doc Buchanan, Zinkin Classic, Clovis West Shootout, and the Top Gun (Ohio). Currently the Cougars are ranked #4 in the nation by Intermat wrestling.

The Buchanan Bears, coached by Troy Tirapelle, are undefeated in dual meets this year, and feature a lineup with very few holes. Led by sophomore Durben Lloren and senior Jason Delacruz, the Bears have 9 returning CIF State meet participants, and finished runner up at the Doc Buchanan. Lloren recently captured the individual championship at 120 lbs at the Doc B, which was then followed up with teammates DelaCruz, Abner Romero and Kai Dill winning individual titles at Five Counties, leading the Bears to a team championship.

The James Logan Colts, coached by Eli Bagaoisan, have recently re-emerged as a contender in the North Coast Section. Described as the most storied wrestling program in Bay Area history, Logan is led by seniors Clayton Hartwell and James Macalolooy, both who earned medals at the Clovis Doc Buchanan Invitational. The Colts are seeking to recapture the success of the 90's, when Logan was 4th (1995) and 3rd (1996) at the CIF State Championship.

Vacaville High School will round out the field, led by state finalists Jeramy Sweany and Gionn Peralta. The perennial power in the Sac Joaquin Section, Vacaville recently finished in the top ten at The Clash National Duals, the toughest dual tournament in the country, and runner up at Temecula Valley's Battle for the Belt. Anthony Hernandez, along with Peralta, both finished 6-0 at The Clash, while Peralta and Sweany took home belts this past weekend in Temecula. The strength of the 'Dogs lineup is at the top and bottom, where they feature 6 wrestlers with state meet experience.

Duals will begin at 4 PM, with Vacaville taking on Buchanan, and Clovis wrestling James Logan. In the second dual, Vacaville will then wrestle Clovis, and Buchanan will square off with James Logan. Doors open at 2 PM for admission.

Potential lineups will be posted later in the week with a preview of possible matchups.

( I hope to see Gilroy, De La Salle, Poway, Santiago-Corona, Carlsbad, Folsom & Del Oro added on and name Clash of the Titans!).
