NCP Pick'em Week 8 Games

Sure DLS skews the East Bay Mountain some. But the fact that SRV beat the top WCAL team SI head to head 28-10, and the 3rd ranked EBAL team Cal just played SRV closer than SI shows the EBAL Mountain could arguably be the stronger league this year even without DLS. The EBAL Mountain is 4-0 vs the WCAL this season.
Everyone knows the East bay has the best football in the Bay Area. Only a handful of people know that EBAL is the best league in Nor cal at least for this season.

That’s Mr. Simpson to you. :)

I’m a Salesian grad (old CAL league w/DLS, St. Mary’s, St. Pat’s, BOD, Moreau, St. Liz, and St. Joe’s), Only time I played a CCS team growing up was when Greg Jeffries (Mets) was at Serra. They beat us on a grand slam in the 7th. We were both ranked in the state at that time.

I’m just a fan of facts. No emotions here.

So which league/conference is better in your expert opinion?!?

What is going on with Riordan?

Thank You So Much!!….

WOW, That is Crazy!!…. So out of roughly 50 players, 17 have D1 offers….

And I thought Folsom was the most talent team in Nor Cal!!…. 🤣

What is going on with Riordan?

Here you go. Every player hyper linked below has D1 FBS offer on 247 Sports.
  1. Michael Mitchell Jr.
  2. Chris Lawson
  3. Cynai Thomas
  4. Judge Nash
  5. Wesley Winn
  6. Tommy Tofi
  7. Peter Langi
  8. Losipini Tupou
  9. Michael Langi
  10. Lopeti Malupo
  11. John Tofi Jr.
  12. Skylar Tiatia
  13. Adonyae Brown
  14. Isaiah Grant
  15. Moses Vaenuku
  16. Salesi Lata
  17. David Lee (Transferred at Beginning of Season)

What is all this Talent that Riordan supposedly has?

I know the QB is supposed to be a top recruit and a couple of receivers, but what about Linemen, Defensive players, Running Backs, etc….

Could someone possibly list the supposed 10+ D1 players that Riordan actually has?….

What is going on with Riordan?

The Crusaders currently sit at 2-4 overall and 1-2 in WCAL League play this season after assembling some of the most abundant talent we've ever seen on one WCAL roster over the past decade plus.

I'm curious for those closer to the City itself, that program, or that school circle - What are the things that can be linked to the disappointment of a season they're having this year?

I'm not used to having high expectations for Riordan, but this is Year 3 of Coach Ravpati's HC tenure for the Crusaders. He should be hitting his stride with this group he's assembled, not regressing. Also, look at all the success his counterpart Coach Vandermade is having across the city in the Sunset District with less star-studded talent on paper.

Is this team not coached well? Too many egos within the program with all the talent that was brought in quickly? Do they not value Defense?

I'm utterly confused on how they lost by 3 scores to VC (who have been a nice story since league play started) with a QB that is a Freshman and was making his 3rd Varsity start. Looking forward to hearing more from those that might know what is going on over there.

Cardinal Newman’s Taissa Queiroz commits to North Carolina

Interesting...joining them. does that mean she'll play that first 1/2 season and if she does, does it equate to one year of playing?? Seems kind of weird if it did. It's not like football where it's a fall sport...GRATS on UNC!
it happens often. Chloe Kitts played at South Carolina in Dec 2022 which would have been her senior year of high school. It did count as a whole season for her as she is listed as a junior now. The benefit is you get an early start on classes and with the transfer rules, as long as you graduate you get an extra year anyway somewhere else. It is not weird, you can go get paid earlier.

SI beat San Diego's #2 ranked team this season. St. Francis has had a ton of success the past few years (state champ in '17) too including the first local team since Pitt in '91 to beat DLS a few years back. The CCS/WCAL has sent over a dozen squads to the Nor Cal championship games not named Serra over the past ten years. Serra is the most impressive, but there are others. Milpitas has a few state 'ships and other champs are Wilcox, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Sacred Heart Prep, Menlo Atherton, etc. Heck, Bellarmine was a runner up as recent as '22. As was Santa Teresa that year. Several more runner ups the past ten years too.

Their pre-season scheduling hasn't been an issue IMO. Plenty of competition in their own CCS backyard and other local Bay Area squads. It's where you finish that counts:
