Top rusher in California?

Anyone that attends Oakdale high games know it's not a hot bed for athletes ! They finally have one. 200 yards a game. Averaging 9.1 yards a carry. His dad was the last person fom Oakdale drafted to NFL. A backup for San Diego. I year NFL Europe
Barcelona dragons. Still holds single game passing record Calpoly SLO. His mom holds or held most of the track and field records. His after contact yards are excellent. And he is #3 ranked wrestler. And he is probably better on defense. Max prep check out his videos!. Playing at Mountnhouse Friday.

Rocklin @ Folsom

on the “pick them” i said folsom 42-3 but i think the game stays low scoring until late something like 14-3 then when rocklin gets desperate and tries to throw (they have no pass game) the snowball affect happens and the clock runs at the end. i do think that if they rematch in the play offs it will be a much closer one or two score type of game

just my two sense
We will see Friday. I will disagree that Rocklin doesn’t have a pass game. I think their QB and WR core can sling it. Maybe I’m wrong we will find out tomorrow. Also I believe SJS sit out period for transfers ends 9/28 meaning all SOP will have to sit out another game after this one.

Talent (speed) in De La Salle vs Saint Mary’s game

That’s fair. And for the most part, I agree with you. This de La Salle team is a fast, disciplined, aggressive, well coached battle tested group and this version of the Rams is talented but very young(8 starters on offense are underclassmen). I do think the computer predicted score is crazy though. lol Last years game was 24-10. SM has played DLS well over the years. Just think it may be closer than what people think.
Comparing SM to last year‘s team is night and day. SM team of last year would lose to this DLS team by 21 but I could see this game being a little closer than people expected. DLS will just eat the clock and dominate the line of scrimmage.

Talent (speed) in De La Salle vs Saint Mary’s game

this de la salle team is not the team of two years ago it’s literally the same kids but now there seniors, not knocking or disrespect saint marys whatsoever they are a fantastic program with great coaches that do right by the kids. but this is just not the year, this is the best team de la salle has had in about 10 years and saint marys is just a hair down from they’re normal level one thing is for certain saint marys will show up prepared with a game plan and they will compete there tails off but de la salle just has too many horses this year

Rocklin @ Folsom

Not sure about this game. I have a feeling Folsom runs away with it in the second half. They have one common opponent (Turlock) and Rocklin battled for a W while Folsom destroyed them. It was the first game of year for Turlock and things change so take it with a grain of salt.
I'm saying 44-21 Folsom Wins.

Top 5 Leagues

for me, in my imo tracy and kimball as a combo are MUCH better than patterson (on a good run right now but traditionally aren't that strong) and mountain house (has yet to put anything together). central and manteca carry the league on the top end for sure, but the bottom half of the league just isn't strong enough to make the vol a top caliber league right now. having kimball and tracy as the bottom middle tier of the league makes for a good league. the "other" manteca schools and mountain house not so much.

for me when i'm judging the strength of the league i really consider the 4th, 5th, 6th best teams in the league just not the top two. it's the same reason a league like the bay valley (ncs) league isn't on my list, the bottom of the league is too bad.

would have been much better to keep tracy or kimball in the league, add patterson, and get rid of one of the manteca schools. and keep out mountain house. that would have made for a stronger football league, though admittedly i did not take travel into consideration in this assessment.

just my two sense.
I get what you are saying. Too to bottom, the vol will have all but 2 teams make the playoffs., sierra and mountain house. That, for the most part, makes for a good league. And because of the success historically of the top teams puts vol up there for me. But I do agree with your take

Tracy hasn't been in the VOL in at least 20 years. Don't know about before that, but they have been in the TCAL for awhile

Top 5 Leagues

How did the VOL get gutted? Still have Central Catholic, Manteca, Oakdale and added Patterson. The league is down this year yes, but I don't think they got gutted in realignment.

Week 5 Football Preview

San Marin (3-0) at Casa Grande (2-1) 7:00 PM

San Marin’s new starting quarterback Daniel Rolovich is coming off a four touchdown passes/one touchdown run outing in last week’s win over Moreau Catholic. His top target was Wesley Timmel. Defensively, Liam McMann is a player to watch. Casa Grande quarterback Danny Mercado has thrown for 457 yards and seven touchdowns and is the Gauchos’ leading rusher. Wyatt Duff has been his top receiver. The Gauchos are coming off a 34-13 win over Rancho Cotate. Their loss came in the opener against Cardinal Newman (61-14).

Liberty (2-1) at Amador Valley (1-2) 7:00 PM

Amador Valley quarterback Tristan Tia has looked the part through three games with 806 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 76 percent of his passes. He has also rushed for 210 yards and five touchdowns. The Dons’ losses have come to undefeated squads in El Cerrito and Downey in which they gave up 85 total points. Liberty junior Jaxon Bell has nearly 550 total yards of offense through three games, but was held in check on the ground in the Lions’ lone loss to Los Gatos. The Lions have wins over Frontier-Bakersfield (which beat Oak Ridge) and Tracy.

Bishop O’Dowd (2-1) at Cardinal Newman (3-0) 7:00 PM

The past two weeks, Bishop O’Dowd surprised Monte Vista to enter the Top 20 rankings, but then lost to McClymonds 28-14. The Dragons have one of the top receivers in the region in Deji Ajose. Cardinal Newman has rushed for more than 300 yards per game and has one of the top underclassmen receivers in Northern California with Zion Cargill. Both teams will be contenders for NCS titles.

Edison-Stockton (0-3) at Downey (4-0) 7:00 PM

Downey quarterback Carson Lamb has thrown for 1,288 yards with 14 touchdowns, including six scores to Ethan Woodmansee. The Knights have wins over Lincoln-Stockton, Elk Grove, Merced and Amador Valley with all four games being decided by 14 points or less. Edison has played a tough schedule in losing to Grant, Clovis West and Central. Former St. Mary’s-Stockton quarterback Devin Rasmussen is now at Edison and Langdon Horace has been his top receiver. Amarion Mckenzie is the leading tackler for Edison.

Central Catholic (2-2) at Patterson (2-2) 7:00 PM

This is a new VOL matchup and its kicks off league play with both teams splitting their four non-league games. Central Catholic’s Joey Alcutt has 399 rushing yards and three touchdowns and Chase Perino has caught three of the five touchdown passes from Kayden McHenry. Patterson quarterback Max Medina is a player to know with 1,216 yards and 10 touchdowns. Patterson’s losses have come to California and Vacaville while Central Catholic has lost to St. Mary’s-Stockton and Central Catholic-Oregon.

Rocklin (3-0) at Folsom (2-1) 7:00 PM

What looks to be the top two teams in the SFL will face off on the opening week. Rocklin has solidly been a Top 10 team this season with Reeve Slone back at quarterback and key players like Mavrik Collins, Mikey Cunningham, Derek Keeley and offensive lineman Garrison Blank. Folsom remains one of the top teams in NorCal with quarterback Ryder Lyons and his top target, Jameson Powell. The Bulldogs’ defense has eight sacks, led by three from Theo Greule. They have scored more than 50 points in two of three games.

Gunn (3-0) at Monta Vista (3-0) 7:00 PM

Gunn has given up eight points over three games in getting off to an undefeated start. JJ Racz has 294 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Luke Hines has 23 tackles and four sacks. Monta Vista has also been stingy on defense in giving up just six points to Kathleen MacDonald. Monta Vista’s last winning season came in 2015.

San Ramon Valley (3-0) at McClymonds (1-2) 7:15 PM

Rhett Thompson has played well at quarterback for San Ramon Valley in completing nearly 70 percent of his passes for 618 yards and five touchdowns. Marco Jones, who has also made plays on offense, has 30 tackles with nine of them being for a loss. The schedule doesn’t let up for McClymonds, which has played Top 20 teams Riordan, St. Francis and Bishop O’Dowd. Quarterback Berell Staples has backed up his 2026 Top 25 ranking to give the Warriors a more balanced offensive attack.

Bear River (3-0) at Wheatland (3-0) 7:15 PM

Luke Wall had the game winning field goal on an untimed down to beat Johansen 13-12. Bear River has a sophomore starting quarterback in Jayden Brock in looking for its first winning season since 2019. Wheatland’s defense has forced six sacks and five turnovers in allowing 14 total points over three games. Konley Cova has 25 tackles and two sacks. Last year, Bear River won this meeting 21-14.

Hillsdale (2-1) at Santa Teresa (3-0) 7:15 PM

Santa Teresa is coming off a 41-35 win in overtime against Pioneer-San Jose. Quarterback Brenton Gaches threw for 267 yards and had three different receivers tally five catches. Hillsdale running back Dante Allendorf has rushed for 307 yards and five touchdowns. All three of Hillsdale’s games have been decided by 10 points or less with its loss coming to Half Moon Bay (21-14).

Talent (speed) in De La Salle vs Saint Mary’s game

De La Salle line is really good. Saint Marys beat them two years ago and last year the score was 24-10. SM actually plays DLS well in relationship to other NorCal teams. SM’s o & d line will surprise you. Game won’t be as bad as you think.
