I think CC can offer some things some schools can't .

Dude you are a football encyclopedia! Great stuff!Ok, I got a couple more for you then. I've posted these on twitter a couple times cause I think they're kinda cool, especially the first one since it's become so en vogue to travel long distance for games.
- In 1975 & 1976, the Woodland Wolves split a home and home w/ DeMatha (Hyattsville, MD). The Woodland-DeMatha games are believed to be the first coast-2-coast high school football match ups in history.
- In 1980, the Placer Hillmen defeated National #4 Mission Viejo 6-0 en route to a Mythical AA State title.
2018 Folsom will be better than this year. 2019 They could be special. 2020 lucky to be 3rd/ 4th in league . Mark my words2018!!!
Don't worry. The whole City of Elk Grove coming up this way!2018 Folsom will be better than this year. 2019 They could be special. 2020 lucky to be 3rd/ 4th in league . Mark my words

Historical quiz: When and who played the very first playoff game in the Sac Joaquin section?
Easy Cordova beat stagg 1976. First of 4 in a row
Cordova had the best run of any NorCal team until DLS got going
ThunderRam, You got 99% of it correct, but my question was about the VERY FIRST Sac Joaquin Section playoff game period, regardless of division.
Here is some Del Oro football history. Interesting this was a Senior project for DO's head coach for his 2004 Sr. year:

Fill me in why Whitney is going to the sfl I understand grants move is pure football related since the other sports will play in metro...football wise Elk Grove or inderkum would be better fitsA little known fact. And this before they were in their new location off Prairie City!

I don't know the reasons the committee based their decision on but Whitney:
- plays in the same youth league as DO, GB, OR, Rocklin, and Folsom
- they are a foothills school (technically speaking)
- there are natural rivalries with Rocklin, DO & GB due to proximity
- big football culture at the school already
- have the population to support a good team
- improving program that has recently made the playoffs
Weren't they 5-6 last year? Didn't they just lose their coach
Being a grant fan I can't disrespect Nevada union like that I don't think Whitney has any history in football and I believe nu wouldn't do a lot better if they were in whitneys current leagueNot sure about their record last year and yes the HC was fired from his coaching role recently, of course that occurred after the re-alignment decision. I don't think this was just a football decision. Whitney performs well in other sports as well and in terms of just football, they are better than both the schools they are replacing. SFL is adding two better schools to an already strong league. Now there are NO Friday nights off in league play.
yea, Whitney is a new school so they have no history, really. NU has gobs of great history. As I understand it, (NU) have had struggles with players coming out to play football and declining enrollment. I think they dropped their JV team this year....not positive but that is what I heard.Being a grant fan I can't disrespect Nevada union like that I don't think Whitney has any history in football and I believe nu wouldn't do a lot better if they were in whitneys current league

Looking forward to Grant next season. A storied program like Grant in the SFL will make Grant better and all the teams in that league will benefit from playing a team like Grant. It will be exciting for Sac football and give us a lot to talk about here.
Still not that great. Crappy area. None of the Foothills families will send their kids there. They will draw from Rancho and Sac. Jesuit 2.0
Names please.Managed to snag three former Folsom starters...

You mean those AT Folsom? I thought you meant opposite?Bennett, Foye and Gaines
WHS has the notoriety of winning a section tile the fastest as a new school in Ca.. They played for a section title with it's first class of seniors losing to Oakdale in the waning minutes. They then stormed thru league and an undefeated season to win the section title. Under Coach Geminez, WHS qualified for the playoffs in 9 of his 10 years. Not bad for a new school......
