BREAKING: Folsom v De La Salle

Folsom has a real shot at winning this game. They have the athletes , just a matter of their lines of scrimmage on both sides of the ball taking care of business. If they do, they can win. If not, then no
Of course Folsom has a shot at this game, but I wouldn't discount this DeLaSalle defense and they are strong at the corners and LBs and will be very togh to run against even with the spread. The Spartans will do everything they can to disrupt the Dogs timing in its pass attack and the dog QB is going to have not much time to go deep with the pass rush. Spartan's will also have a spy to contain the QB. I think Folsom offense will have just as much difficulty on offense as in the past and maybe give them one more score for limiting mistakes. DLS line will reload and the returners they have on defense is a very talented class not to mention the underclass. DLS is going to be very physically strong and the offense will should be very precise and ball control that will limit Folsom's offense from having opportunities to get going. That is how you beat Folsom - control the ball and limited their attempts after you stop them. DLS offense has a few tricks and will have success. I think this should be a closer game than before but beating the Spartans at Owens field and this class will be tough. I think the Spartan's could win by 14. Folsom will have to have success early on offense against an elite defense to win this game and that will be the indication early on if they will have a shot. If DLS jumps on them like in the past, it may be another long night for the Dogs. Still think the Spartan's will win by at least 10.

Yes they did beat a team better than Folsom in St. John’s Catholic (MD)
Extremely debatable. And that was a miracle comeback as well.

So if that's what your going with for your argument, then you are in trouble in a few weeks.

Folsom by 7-10

This shows your knowledge. St. John’s was a better team then Folsom.
Debatable at best. And that took a miracle comeback to win. If your going to use that, as I said above, you've already lost in a few weeks.

That along with the fact you previously said the 2014 team was the best Folsom team ever.
2014 is the best team. However, as I have stated multiple times, this team has the best shot to beat DLS due to match ups and the fact I don't think DLS has any shot of being as good as they were 2012-2014.

If you know the key to beat them, then why is your team about 0-20 against them in the last decade or so? Honest question.

I think the fact that the same posters who want Folsom to lose so bad, keep coming up with excuses as to why Folsom has zero shot, is the exact reason why they are nervous and know this game is the game changer.

And what team is that? My team has never played Folsom. Not sure where you got my team? I'm not from the Sac-SJ section. My team is actually one of the teams that tied DeLaSalle and my team is from a section that beat Folsom in the sections only matchup against them that I know of. You are mistaken.

I stand corrected.

You have nearly the same name as the Jesuit dude.

Your a mess. You contradict yourself so much. It makes it impossible to now where you stand. But that’s ok. You’ll be dead and gone in only 20 more days. So bye bye.

DLS 35-21

It will be a fun game. Both teams very well coached. Obviously Folsom is the underdogs. They have never beat DLS. DLS has dominated the north for years. No reason to hate period it is a very fun Northern CA matchup, and probably the best match up to start the season in a very long time here in the north. I will not be able to see the game but should be a great game.

The Folsom QB will be the key to their success or failure. If he is able to keep plays alive with his scrambling ability and move the chains on third down Folsom will have a good chance.

My only concern is does DLS have sufficient athleticism on the corners to defend Ngata in space. Folsom looks pretty balanced offensively, and spreading DLS on defense can only help Folsom. I’m rooting for DLS, as a longtime observer of their program(and having coached a few of their alumni in youth football) but Folsom is a handful offensively

Agreed. Folsom will be a handful offensively. However, I wouldn’t necessarily look only at the corners to stop Folsom. I do think that the corners are good, but to me it’s the DLS front seven is going to be impactful. This will be one of their best front 7s...maybe ever. I know that sounds crazy, but I can hardly remember a time when all front 7 guys are likely going to be playing Saturdays at some point. This is where DLS has to attack. Pressure Bennett, make him uncomfortable, and make him get rid of the ball fast or get him scrambling for his life. There will be no big plays eaither way. Folsom will need big plays to stay in this, because DLS is goin to score....a lot.

Good comments about the DLS front seven defensively being one of their best ever. Some Folsom supporters seem to think DLS is down on both sides of the ball this year. Perhaps they need to check out the DLS defense a little more.

Get rid of the ball fast is not necessarily a bad thing if the receivers can add run after catch. Its the run after catch that would be worrisome with that approach. This has always been the issue with Folsom. Its all about the athletes in space.

Interesting that you say that. A Very good point. That is certainly a likely objective for Folsom since that is clearly their strong point. They’ve killed pretty much everyone with that concept.

That said, the DLS defense that I believe that they will put on the field will have the speed and tackling ability to limit RAC. 3 of their starting DBs all run track so hopefully that will pay dividends. DLS’ coaches will have to adjust if Folsom goes to hitting quick throws. I do l know that they are working on a “few things” to limit Folsom’s spread. I’ll have to leave it at that though as you can understand.

I’m excited about this game. Tix in sale tomorrow!

I do think that the corners are good
Helix had one of the best corners in the country. Far better than anyone DLS will put out there. He was abolsutely torched against Folsom. Folsoms receivers are all SEC/ACC caliber and one will play on sundays. Good luck.

This will be one of their best front 7s.
Not even close. And you haven't even seen this team play yet. You live in Folsom and follow DLS online. This statement is bold and unsubstantiated.

Have you ever watched Folsom play? They're entire offense is get rid of the ball quick. DLS isnt going to make them do anything they don't already do by design. They don't just run veer right and veer left. They have a huge playbook, based on getting rid of the ball quick and getting it to their athletes. Nothing new.

Folsom will need big plays to stay in this, because DLS is goin to score....a lot.
Need big plays? They have a big play offense. Nothing new. And DLS will not score at will. If you think past results of different teams say otherwise, you are in for a long hard night.

Folsom 42-35

Helix is brought up. Helix was hardly a juggernaut on offense last season and dropped 42 on Folsom. Very good defense, but I would take DLS defense last season and this year.

Your opinion is one thing but you absolutely have no idea what your talking about. You say there entire offense is all about get rid of the ball quick. Well your best throwing QB ever couldn’t do it at all. You have proven to know nothing about high school football. This QB is not near the the pocket passer Browning was. Again you just keep contradicting yourself on ever post. If they are a quick passing team why do you think this QB has a better chance. The fact is that 5 star DB miss played Folsoms rec all night long. Folsoms wide outs are to good to give them that much room. DLS will punch them right in the mouth. The more you talk the more I like DLS’s chance.and yes DLS’s line will own Folsom. You made me realize my prediction was to generous.

DLS 35-14 and we will never hear from you again.

The rest of Helix’s defense was terrible. It takes a whole defense to stop an offense like Folsom. That’s what DLS has. DLS’s D will be twice as tough as Helix’s. Folsom’s success has come against JV teams. Stop comparing those teams to DLS.

I’ve seen Folsom plenty of times. Enough to know their strengths and weaknesses. And I see about 5 DLS games a year...live. Certainly all of the big games.

Folsom will need big plays. If you think that DLS is going let them go 10 yards a pop down the field, you’re proving your lack of HSFB football knowledge.

DLS will get stops. More than Folsom. You act like DLS has never seen the spread before.

DLS will score 40+. That’ll be more than enough.

The rest of Helix’s defense was terrible.
Kind of like SJCs second half defensive collapse? They were overrated and maybe on par with a team like Helix in reality. They were all hype and no bite.

That’s what DLS has. DLS’s D will be twice as tough as Helix’s.
Speculation. You haven't seen this team even play yet, let alone play against the #1 team in Norcal.

Folsom’s success has come against JV teams. Stop comparing those teams to DLS.
JV teams? DLS still didn't beat a team better than Folsom did last year. Common opponent was same exact outcome. SJC was overrated. Folsom beat everyone in front of them. And they will win again on Aug 17th.

The excuses by DLS fans are laughable. Trying to discredit every win by others, but yet try and pump up their owns wins and explain away losses with excuses.

The good news is there will be no more of the same old "Folsom rule!" "You played nobody!" "You don't deserve a game with us!" "You are H76!" "We know who you are!"................ yawn...............come Aug 17th.

Folsom 42-35. Book it!

Best throwing QB? I think you said it best yourself. You can throw all you want, but if you cant get rid of the ball quickly or be elusive, you will struggle against DLS, as Browning did.

Bennett is a whole other type of QB with another dynamic. While not the pure passer Browning was, Bennett is much faster and can also make plays with his legs. Look for him to throw for 200 plus and rush for 100 plus in this game. DLS won't throw the kitchen sink at him after a few big plays to all the D1s at the skill positions.

All of a sudden, DLS guys are going to stop the machine? Riiiiiiiiight. One of the best corners in the country got lit up by a bunch of juniors! DLS doesn't have that kind of skill at corner. They will rely on sending the house and hoping that Bennett makes mistakes. I just don't see it.

Thanks, Streak. You’re right. I’m outta his convo. We’ve beaten it to death. Folsom will have their chance, and I’ll be here to give them their die should they win. Thank goodness it’s less than 3 weeks away.

Your score might be right about score

I doubt you’re correct about sending the house — not DLS/ Eidsom’s Style and nothing that needed to be done the last 2 games vs Folsom

I can see Folsom winning more easily than I can see them scoring 40+ — DLS went over 30 years between allowing that many points until these recent vintages of socal super-teams. Also, am trying to come up with all of the teams that have beat DLS because of speed in space and can’t thinknof any. To beat DLS, it’s much more helpful to be physically dominant than athletically. I don’t think Folsom has that. However, Folsom does have the 2nd most helpful weapon, whichnis a mobile QB. DLS eats up great pocket passers but struggles against QBs withblegs at times. As a DLS fan, that concerns much more than having an ACC WR —

Never mind you have no idea what your talking about. And you don’t get to catapult your team into machine status. DLS is the green machine. Come up with something original for your team. The more you talk the worse you look.

Right now we are the machine.

18 days until destiny.

I am curious as to who "all the D1 players at the skill positions" are for Folsom. Ngata at receiver for sure, but who else is a D1 offensive player for Folsom?

I am very serious. I trust little that is on the internet and would prefer that you tell me all the D1 players that Folsom has, since you seem to be so knowledgeable about them.

I can. Lakeland and STA.
But none of that matters. Just like streaks or any last 30 results.
