Final CCS playoff projections after week 10

Is valley Christian a lock to be in D2 open? Or is it a possibility that they could still end up in D3 open?

Valley Christian could end up in DIII under the following scenario:

1. Saratoga doesn't make the play-offs which will occur if Saratoga losses to Fremont or Aragon beats Hillsdale or Saratoga losses out on the three way tiebreaker for the final two at-large spots: And

2. Aptos, Scotts Valley or Pacific Grove do not opt up into the top division. If one of these teams opts up they will be in DIII (all are smaller enrollment than VC). If Terra Nova was moved down then VC would stay in DIII, but if Aragon or Piedmont Hills was moved down then VC would move back into DII.

PALbooster and all concerned,

The Lincoln "champion" point issue has been definitively resolved by the BVAL and approved by the CCS office. Here's how it will work: the Lincoln/San Jose BIG BONE game has been declared a non-league game since all league games (per by-laws) need to be completed by November 14th. Therefore, if Lincoln defeats Independence this Friday (as expected), they would finish league play with a 5-0 record and by virtue of everyone else having at least one league loss, be declared league champions. This would award a full bonus point to all of Lincoln's opponents (including Aragon). However, if Lincoln loses, the winner of the Westmont vs Silver Creek game this Friday would finish with a 6-1 league record and they would be declared the league champion.

Hope that helps!

Thanks. I had heard that the section office was deciding what to do about it, but not heard that they had made a decision.

Yep,
I was just going to chime in. The BVAL was working with the section office about it. The Big bone game will be a non league game in this scenario and will be written into our league by-laws as such. I think they (our commissioner, reps and CCS) did a nice job coming to this resolution. It makes more sense this way. San Jose and Lincoln can continue their tradition without the fall out to the rest of the section.

With Roody Poos' information - it means that if Lincoln wins this week Aragon will have 19 points and make the field as an at-large - since their CBED has been readjusted to 1431 (was 1467) - it means that Valley Christian would definitely be in DII Open. Unless one of the monumental upsets occur Piedmont Hills would be the final at-large team and Saratoga would be left out.

Interesting scenario for Aptos if they win Friday and win their league - if things play out as expected (Riordan loses to SF and Monte Vista Christian loses to San Benito) - Aptos would face either Live Oak or Burlingame if they opted up and then the winner of MVC vs Live Oak or Burlingame in a semi-final.

why does this zrules guy troll the coach at PHHS? Did he get cut when he was on JV or something.

Save that nonsense for the hoops boards, NOW BACK To CCS Football.

The " Mad Hatter" is now officially posting on the Football Message Boards which is uncharted territory for the "Water Bottle Throwing hissy fit King". Questioning Terra Nova's wins was classic, Pistol Pete must not have realized Palbooster is the legendary HC of Terra Nova High School. Stick to the basketball feeds, relentless practices until meniscus tears and the SF pipeline. My pre season MHAL basketball prediction can be seen shortly. Happy Holidays, hope you get your Turkey Stuffed.

Now back to CCS Football

According to Twitter @RyanSilapan, Aptos' coach Randy Blankenship just texted that the Mariners will not be opting up to Open.

Thanks. If that is the case then DI open, the large non-open and small non-open match-ups are set. Today's results can still impact DII and DIII open seedings
